Royal Caribbean International has announced that the world’s largest cruise ship will set sail in 2024. The vessel, called ‘Wonder of the Seas’, will be the fifth Oasis-class ship in their fleet and will have capacity for 6,800 passengers and almost 3,500 crew members. The ship will feature a wide range of activities and amenities, including multiple pools and water slides, a sports court, a casino, a theatre, a spa, and over 20 restaurants. The ship will be built by the French shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique and will be deployed in the Asia-Pacific region, including China. Royal Caribbean International stated that the vessel’s construction has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but they are confident that the ship will be completed in time for its 2024 debut.
